Since Mad Flemming has been know as my second home it only made sense to have the party start there. The plan was just to start there but we ended up staying there.
I want to Thanks everyone that helped to make the party happen, those that showed and those that wanted to show and sent in your messages. Thanks to the staff at Mad Flemming for the great service and drinks and outstanding service.
For those that couldn't make it here are the pictures from the party. (XXX)
Rouge – 180 Orchard Road Pernakan Place, Tel – 6732 6966 (8 Oct 2005)
This new club on Orchard Road hit the ground running for their Launch Party on Thursday. The official party started at 10pm but hours before that they has a free flow of drinks going on, So the earlier you arrive the better it was. While the area that was open for the F/F was a bit small but it held everyone pretty good. This was my first time in the location, which use to be the “Papa Joes” a few years back so I had no idea how big the club would be when I arrived. At first I thought, “Wow this is just shop-house size!” Then at 10pm they opened up the other size and I was shown to my table which was next to the stage and dance floor. Yeah another great seat!
With both sides open now you could get the full effect of the club and the size is just right too. While there was a good size crowd for the party it was still easy to move about. The service was outstanding both in the waiting area and the main section. This night I was dinking Gin and 7up which ran me S$9+, which I thought was pretty good deal.
There was a good mix in the way of the other clubber with both younger and older people there with it more on the younger side, under 27 and a 50/50 mix between guys and girls.
As the Rouge Club gets its name out and others discover it the club should become one of the new hot spots to hit on party nights. Other clubs associated to it is the Acid Bar, Alley Bar and Per-Rouge so with that kind of experience behind them stand by for more great time.

RAV - 69 Circular Road – Up Date (2 Feb 2005) Wet n Wild Night
I got an invitation to RAV for their Wet n Wild Night wet tee shirt dancing.
I arrived at the club about 7:50 hoping to meet some friends there but too bad none where able to make. So I took up a seat close to the stage and settled in for along night. The special for the night was Moose Head Beer which had made it’s appearance in Singapore after all these years. One bottle was 12 + + but a bucket of 4 was 36 so after I had my one free and one other I got the bucket. What was messed up is that you didn’t get to keep the Moose Head bucket, but anyway.
The girls came out 8:45 and the show began. Now you have to understand being from the states I have been to wet tee shirt contest before and I know that the one here was not going to be anything like what I hoped and sure as shit it wasn’t but for Singapore it was as good as it could have gotten. Beside s it was something different which is a nice touch.
The girls, 3 at first then a 4th one for the remaining sets came out with the DJ jumping up the crowed which at first in my option were a bit on the weak side for the show they were getting. The girls danced for about 5 minutes before rotating and then leaving the pool area. The girls putting on the show were defiantly on the hot side for sure and really knew how to dance to get things going. But the second set the crowd was really getting into it or maybe it was all the beer going down. The 3rd and forth set got better and better but I had to take off about 11:30 so I can’t tell how the night ended up going.
If you want to catch the show stop by on Wednesday during Media Night and see the show. I’ll make it back again for sure. See the pictures and movies (Here)

Playroom – 38 Circular Road – Tel : - 4 August 2005 (renamed Dec 2007)
One night I was out after work and swung by Circular Road to see what was up and found another brand new pub. At first I passed it by but after checking out the other places I decided to return back to the Play room and was glad I did.
The Play Room is one of three clubs run by the same organization, you have the Bedroom Bar at 68 Circular Road and the Living room on the same street. While the Bedroom and Living Room bars are more of chill out places the play room is just that, a place where you can go and have fun. The music is more up beat but not so loud that you can not hold a decent conversation with out yelling. Like most other pubs / bars are the street there is outside seating. Inside you find a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff member to help you enjoy your night.
Happy hours run from 3pm until 9pm with closing time depending on you!! The manage Agness and the staff Sasha and Diana #1 and #2 are fun to party with and do all they can so you will have a great night. If karaoke is your thing, well sing your heart out here or do as I did and have Diana #2 to sing it for you, that’s what I did because there is not enough alcohol in the pub to get me to sing, sorry. Tucked away in the back of the bar is a pool table for you players also.
So here is another place you can check out while you are on Circular Road and if you haven’t been on the street for while stop by and rediscover this happening street.

Paradise The Bar – 400 Orchard Road – #03-20 Orchard Towers – 6734 3523 (21 July 2005)
I was taken here by a friend to check it out and see the girls in the Belly Dance outfits.
Sad to say the night we went there was none but it gave me a reason to go back on a Friday when they do have the girls. So look for more to come on this bar!
Paradise is a small club but not tiny, seats about 50 people I guess so you get the cozy feeling for the bar. Pricing is good during happy hours at $16 per jug.
Revival F&B – 50 Tanjong Pagar –Tel 6227 2183 (6 July 2005)
Nothing too special about this place, ok watering hole if you want Filipina BmD girls. Saw a few hot ones there but what I can say? This place you have to check out for your self.
Sub Zone - #03-34- 304 Orchard Road Lucky Plaza, Tel : 6737 8378 (1 July 2005)
Small pub located by the bathroom, kind of hard to find until you need to go take a piss then you’ll find it just find. The night I went by it was kind of dead but still have a chance to chat with a girl while there for a while. Not pushy buy-me-drink girls which is cool.
This is a place I would need to check out later in the evening since last time I was there about 7pm.
Aladdin Club - 118 Tanjong Pagar Road - (24 June 2005) Update: Under new Management with a different scheme so you can find Filipinas here some times.
I found this club by just walking by and looking in. I had passed it several times before and just looked from the window. At first I thought it was a restaurant but when the waitress in her Aladdin outfit came up to me and told me it was a bar I had to stop in and check it out.

Marissa Pilipino Pub - 304 Orchard Road #03-49 Lucky Plaza (27 May 2005)
This is one happening pub, lots of girls to talk to and hang out with. When I made it by the pub it was about 10pm and the place was packed. While there is karaoke singing no one really cares how good you are since it is all for fun. Being in Lucky Plaza makes it another Filipina hang out. Unlike other pubs in the building this one had the girls dancing at the tables and having a great time.
About 1130pm the girls start to move to over to Queens disco in Orchard towers since the pub closes at midnight. So it makes it a good location to make a catch before they hit the masses of the towers. So that is something to keep in mind.
Over all I really like the Marissa pub and I’m sure I’ll return, I need to get some pictures next time.
Rendezvous Pub - 304 Orchard Road #02-61 Lucky Plaza - (27 May 2005)
Lucky plaza has its share of small pubs and here is a new one. The owner Alex is from Canada and a friendly person. The pub is small seating only about 25 people.
If you like wine you have to try their white wine, it is fantastic. If you are a beer drinker Sam Miguel is on tap. Annie and Bea will make sure your orders are filled and provide you good service. From time to time other girls, mostly Filipinas, will stroll into the pub that you can chat with and they will escort you to other pubs if you wish to join them.
Asylum Bar - 3-E River Valley Rd - #01-02 Clarke Quay - 6338 0035 ( 21 May 2005)
With the renovations going on at Clarke Quay new clubs are showing up which needed to be investigated. Asylum is one such bar. What I really like about the bar is that it give you a feeling of being in some one house vice a bar. Not a big place but very comfortable for those that stop by. Seating is only about 35 inside with more outside.
The staff is a group of young girls with one looking a young Maria Cary! The Asylum is a good place to get your night started when you find in the Clarke Quay.

Desire - 39 Circular Road - 6534 4497 (29 April 2005)
One of the many shop-house size clubs along the street. I had heard about the club from a few people and wanted to stop in a few times my self and finally made it by, the bad part is I was way too early to catch the action I fell since they close at 6am and I was there about 9pm. Over all from what I saw of the pub and the few that there I could see potential for a good time here. There is a small dance floor located in the middle of the club by the DJ’s both, seating upstairs gives you a view for the action on the main floor. You can it along the street if you need a break from the crowd as well.
Service could have been a bit better, I was there for almost 5 minutes before ask what I wanted and the club only had 5 customers, but on the up side the beer was only S$5.00 each so in my book it kind of made up for the long wait.
I’ll have to return one night later in the evening to really catch this pub in its full glory and see what is happening.
Bisous Bar - 25 Church Street #01-01 Capital Square 3 - 6226 5505 (29 April 2005)
Of all the bars and pubs I have been to Singapore the Bisous Bars has by far the best service I have ever received. From the time I walked in until I left everything went great. The staff is overly friendly, drinks and food come fast and when ever I needed something I didn’t have to wait around for the waitress to appear.
The Bisous Bar as a large selection of drinks on their drink menu for you to choose from and the food menu will meet your needs if you care to eat. I had the Cajun chicken wings and they where nothing less than outstanding! When you go try them will you happy you did.
Seating is provided in and outside like all the other bars in the area. They have a good mix of music playing and I never found it to loud but rather just right for the time of evening and the crowd. The Bisous Bar is visited by both locals and Expats and everyone has great time.
Baron’s Pub - 30 Circular Road - 6538-0085 (17 April 2005)
I hit Baron’s Pub a few now and each time found it to be a place which is really cool to hang out it. The pub has seating inside and along the street, but regardless of where you sit you will find each location very comfortable. Staff is friendly and help full and the prices are average for this kind of pub.
With over 35 plus on the street each place has to have something going for it to attract the crowds in so for Baron’s Pub it must be the friendly atmosphere it gives you. Check it out one night soon!

Mon Petit Pastry Bar - 112 Robinson Road #01-02 HB Robinson - 6220 2080 (16 April 2005)
If you work in the central business district (CBD) you need to know of this bar. What I like about Mon Petit Pastry Bar is the fact that it opens before lunch and stays open late into the evening considering the location. Serving food and snacks it is a great place to stop by for lunch while you are working then after work it give you a place to stop by and relax after a hard day in the office. They have beer specials, wines and fine chocolate which you will enjoy. Fridays nights after working hours they have a good size crowd relaxing and is worth checking out with your friends before you start your weekend.

A Gun Pub 290 Joo Chiat Road - 6345 9522 (1 April 2005)
Stopped in A Gun one Friday after work to check it out, like some the other pubs on the street A Gun has the bar top dancers going and the girls there to keep you company while you chat and buy your drinks. I got there about 11pm or so and the place was packed with customer. Beers are S$9.00 so that is pretty good. Everyone is friendly there, if you see what I’m saying! Over all not a bad place, it could be a best kept secret kind of place along the street.
Like any street that has a lot of pubs you have to go in and check it out to see what is going on. From the out side you can not truly tell, trust me! That shit hole of looking place could be the best thing going in the area.
Actors The Music Bar - 13 South Bridge Road - (above the 7-11)
Actors is a club I hadn’t been in for a long time so I decided to drop in and check it out and I am glad I did.
I arrived about 8 pm and the club had a few people hanging out enjoying their drinks. The new owner of the club told me that around 9:30 there would be a jam session where anyone could get up and play or sing. Sounding like a good way to spend the night I decided to hang around and check it out for a while.
About 9pm the crowd started to fill the club and then the jamming started. Good singing and music from the people playing. Some are professional musicians while others are just people having a good time. The crowd seemed to be pretty much regulars with a few people mixed in such as my self. Everyone was friendly and having a great time.
With a small staff the service is still good and you don’t have to wait long after ordering drinks before you receive them. Actors has a full bar so all your drinking needs are sure to filled. Pints of Carlsberg draft is S$14 while most of your mix drinks average about 12 bucks if I recall correctly.
When you plan to visit if you may want to arrive early unless you don’t mind standing but after the jam session starts the music will have you on your feet so it really doesn’t matter does it? So stop by and have a great time some night. While the main jam session is on Fridays that I know of anyone can jam at any time with the equipment that is always available for your use.

Gotham Penthouse - 3-A River Valley Rd Clarke Quay #03-01 Merchant’s Court - 6339 5595 (15 Jan 2005)
Since Clarke Quay was remodeled several months many are not aware of the new clubs that moved in to replace those that have moved on. Gotham Penthouse one such club, located where Jams 2000 was above the old Hooters making it the only club to fill a 3rd floor in the Clarke Quay area now. The 2 men I spoke with, Joseph Miller and Mychael Dean which are managers with the club give me their thoughts on the club and what it took to put it all together.
The clubs received a massive renovation to give it the look and fell they were looking for. Divided in to 5 different areas not including the stage the club offers everyone something they will like and yes they have a non-smoking which is off the main area for those that want to party don’t want to be covered in smoke. This area has its own sound system and is keep smoke free by the glass doors and air conditions system.
Another area off to the left of the dance floor is a reserved section for private parties while off to the right is the Aqua area located under several large fish tanks. The bar area is large and raised above the dance floor with seating along a railing so you can enjoy your drinks and at the same time watch those on the dance floor.
We arrived at the club about 9:30pm on a Saturday, there were several people in the club but like most it was a bit slow but considering the time it was normal! So we found a good place sit (there were 5 of us) and ordered our drinks. The cover charge for guys was $20 which included the first drink and $10 for the Ladies; it was ladies night which is free flow of Vodka for them.
Between 10 and 10:30 the ladies started to arrive in force filling the club up. It seems that ladies have found the clubs before the guys have in this case. But inventorially the guys started to show up but the ration was still many more girls to guys, which was fine with me.
Service from the bar and waitress was outstanding, we never had to wait long for drinks after we ordered them which is always a big plus for any customer. Music is a mix of House, Trance and R&B so the dance floor was always had people on it.
We left the club about 1:30am and it was still going even stronger and I’m sure it continued that way until closing time.
Gotham Penthouse has been open for about month now so many still don’t know of this new night club but as words gets out and the crowd returns to Clarke Quay area this club will truly take off in popularity with the clubbing crowd.
