Club Passion - 400 Orchard Road, Orchard Towers #03-34/35 - 6733 0898 (4 Dec 2004)
Stopped in the Club Passion around midnight and the crowd was really lively. A 60/40 mix of girls to guys so you didn’t have to sit long before you had some company. Mostly Filipinas girls were there the night I stopped in with a ex-co-worker I ran into. For Orchard Towers it is your average small pub with a pool table, no bar top dancing here but plenty of action throughout the club anyway.
RAV - 69 Circular Road #01-01 - 6327 4900 (1 Dec 2004)
I stopped into RAV on Tuesday after work and found it pretty quiet for the most part which is normal for many clubs in Singapore on this night, but the groups that were there did have a good time. I spoke with the Duty Supervisor, Adrian Chow about the club and he informed me that on the next the day there would be a beauty contest starting about 8:30 or 9 and asked if he could reserve a good seat for me. Taking up the offer I told him I’d be in around 8 or so.
1 Dec - arrived around 7:30 and there were already a lot of people in the club with more coming in all the time. I got a seat at the bar with a great view of the dance floor where the contest would be held. RAV is laid out with soft red lighting seats with gives the club a very warm party feeling. A fairly large club that can seat about 200 people I would guess. You have tall bar stools, short stools, couch chairs and seats to relax in depending on where you are the club. Prices are average after hour but you should check the drink promotions that are always going on during the week.
House and R&B is the music of choice and the DJ can really mix it up so the tempo is always right on the mark. Besides the full bar you can buy bottles for your next visit or get a pony keg of Tiger beer to have at your table if you plan to have a large group and want to do some serious drinking. The service was great in the club, which is one thing I really liked; you didn’t have to wait long for your order due to the two bartenders and large floor staff.
The night I was in RAV there was a good mix of people, Chinese, Malay and Indian girls but mostly couples but I think it could be a good place to make new friends too due to its location and set up. Locals have found the club with a few Expats mixed in but this is normal for Circular Road. RAV has the same feel and those on Mohamed Sultan Road to give you an idea of over feel of the club. Well worth stopping by and checking out.
Aquadisiac Bar & Supper Club - 435 Orchard Road #01-18 to 01-23 - Wisma Atria - 6333-5003 (13 Nov 2004)

Next time you find your self on Orchard Road check out the Nude Restaurant by IndoChina located under the Wisma Atria Mall. Right off the street this club offer you that out doors feel of Boat Quay. Set lower then the street you never notice the crowd of people passing by. I arrived in the club at 10pm and seating looked like it could be a problem but I got lucky and found a seat in front of the stage for the band that was going to be playing.
The set up of the club is in three sections, the first section is the restaurant and bar which are outside and the disco being inside. The blue lighting sets a great mood for the club I thought and added to the over great time I had there. Umbrellas protect you from the sun or if is should state to rain while seating out side.
The club pulls in everyone from youngsters of early 20’s to Expats and visitors to Singapore. Service over all is pretty but you may find your self waiting for drinks a bit longer then you would like but considering the size of the club and the number of people there I would say for a Saturday night it was ok. Drink prices are average so no deals there, a pint of Carlsberg on tap will run you S$13.00 with taxes. While I didn’t eat there what I saw passing by to other tables looked great.
The band “Three Blind Mice” which is made up of 2 Filipino’s and 1 Singaporean put on a good show and played 3 sets playing a good mix of old and new tones. They must have a good following by the number of request they had received, their sets lasted about 30 to 40 minutes.
During this visit I didn’t spend time the disco section but what I did see was comfortable seating with the DJ at the far end by the dance floor which is on the opposite side of the club from the bar.
I like the Aquadisiac Bar a lot and can see my self there in the nights to come or
even in the day time to just kick back and relax while watch all the people (girls) walk by. And since it is right next to the Orchard MRT station the foot traffic should be outstanding, if you see what I’m saying? Another good thing about the location is it makes it a great spot to meet your friends, you can have a nice cool drink while waiting for them to arrive, we all know how people run late in Singapore, so vice standing around the MRT station have drink ad relax at the Aquadisiac Bar.
Naughty Girl - Orchard Towers - #02-46 - 6732 5925 / 6734 4767 (6 Nov 2004)
It’s Saturday night and I’m off to the towers to check out a new club I saw on my last visit a few day before. So I hooked up with a friend and headed over.
We arrived around 10:30 or 11pm and the club was going great, the band Toxic, which a local band had just finish their set so I wanted to stay to see the next one and hear them in action since they sounded pretty good when we walked in.
Finding a place to hang out was a bit hard since the club was pretty full with seating around 300 maximum of the club would be my best guess but we managed to get one by the entrance which in the long run worked out great for me because it offered a location to check the who was coming and going along with a great view of the bar top dancers.
Naughty Girls opens at 6pm and remains opens until 4am with plans to extend the hours to 5am which will make this one of the longest staying open clubs in Orchard Towers. So I’m sure this act will draw in the club goers from the other clubs when they close around 2 or 3am. If you are looking for a long Happy Hours well Naughty Girl will give you that too, running from 6pm to 11pm I don’t know of another club with these kinds of happy hours times. Thinking of everything the club has a Ladies Nights on Tuesday and Guys night is on Wednesday. Thursday is 1-for-1 on drinks until 11pm and Friday is Theme Night, so checking out what the Theme is from week to week could bring regulars customers back for months to come to see what is new! Sunday afternoon from 1 to7 is Tea Dance time for those who only have time to party on Sundays and want to get the most of their time off.
The Band Toxic plays a good mix of top 40 and dance music keep the crowd on the dance floor with their sets, a very high energy band with a good stage show. So if you love to get down and dance get there early, get a seat by the dance for the first set and have a great time. If you don’t have a girl to dance with there are plenty in the club so getting a dance partner isn’t a problem here.
If watching dancers is your thing will Naught Girl has some of the best bar top dancers I have seen so far in any club. Starting at around 9pm the girls dance the night away in style and make for a tantalizing show of their pole dance talents.
Some of these girls have some real stamina too, well worth checking out be all means! At one point I saw 4 on stage and the show was nothing less than outstanding. As the night went on a few guys hit the bar top and joined in with the ladies. Around the club there are plenty places to bar top dance besides at the bar that are set up for dancers so I would guess to say on really hot nights dancers will be all around you making any seat a great seat.
The DJ playing sets betweens the bands sets has a real feel for the crowd and keeps the music going with out missing a beat and keeping the crowd dancing throughout the night.
Naught Girl offers a full bar with Carlsberg beer on tap, during happy hours a mug of beer will run you S$5.00 and jugs are 19.80 during normal hours, the average cost for a mix drink is in the12 dollar range which is pretty normal for the club. I didn’t get the price for ladies drinks so I don’t know if there is any difference or not, so that you will have to find out for yourself.
Around the club there are several TV monitors and a big screen for watching sports events and a pool table of those of you who enjoy playing the game. Behind the bar there are VIP rooms for those that want to talk without having to be over powered by the music from the DJ or the band. Not ready just yet at the time this review was written once done they will be a popular are of the club. On the outside of the club there are lockers to store your valuables if you don’t wish to carry them inside for a dollar.
Over all view of Naught Girl, the management of the club has taken the club to new lever for Orchard Towers clubs. The lay out of the club is well thought out with seating very well arranged. The staff is helpful and friendly and service is fast ever for a club of this large size.
Naughty girl “where naughty is nice” is differently a club to check out when you plan to going partying for a night. So drop by and check it out and have a great time!
If you have been going to Orchard Towers over the years Naughty Girl is located in the same location as the old Pink Pussy Cat, Green Mango and Makati Club. I feel Naught Girl will carry on the same party mood as the previous clubs and surpass them in longevity.
Want to see Pictures of the club? YES!!
Club Romeo - Orchard Towers - #03-36 - 6887-4980 (5 Nov 2004)
Well here is small club with a lot of action going on! I arrived in the Club Romeo right after midnight and things where going great. As you enter the club the first thing you see is a small dance stage packed with girl dancing. While the stage is small there is room for up to 5 to dance 6 if they pack it in. The girls dance for a while then sit with customers’ drink they drink and talk business.
I found a set at table again the wall by the bar so I could catch the show and check the place out better. Lot of ladies for sure but not sure if all are the real thing or not, but hey this is Singapore and you see what you see!
The service in the club was quick, so you don’t wait long for your drinks which is always a good way to keep the guy in there and stop them from moving on, I mean what guy in his right mind well leave a full beer behind just because there are a few lady-boys around? Drink prices are the same as all the other clubs in the Towers so no saving there unless you get in during Happy House which is from 6pm to 10pm when beers are S$4.80 per mug or S$19.80 for a jug and house pour goes for S$7.80.
Sundays you find the club is open for Tea Dance so you can check the club during the day if you are not a night person or just get away in the evening. If you just want to kick back with friends and watch some live sports which are also available.
If you should choose to have a lady join you drinks are going to run in the S$20 range, again pretty normal pricing. I was approached by 2 girls during my short stay but one ran off when she got close but the other stuck around for a drink se was a Thai lady with a great figure. So after I give up the 20 for the drink she moved closer so we could chat. After about 15 or so minutes she start her sales pitch, S$300 for the night or S$150 short-time. Well I guess by the look on my face she saw that wasn’t going to happen so she cut 50 of the short-time price bring it to S$100. Not a bad price but I told her I was too fucked up and maybe some other time. She tells me she is only in Singapore for 1 more week of her 2 week stay.
Not a bad place to visit and hangout for a while as you do your shopping in Orchard Towers. So check it out some time and enjoy your selves, I did!
Bongo Bar - Orchard Towers - #03-45 - (5 Nov 2004)
My second stop for the night; one of the large bars with a band that is pretty good or I was pretty drunk! It was pretty quiet when I got in around 1am. This is the old Rain Forest Club.
Service was ok but nothing to brag about, I ended up getting my own drink from the bar which was no big deal really. I spotted a hot ladies but the odd were about 1:1 so no one came over for a chat. This club you usually have to approach the girls first or call them over. So if you don’t want to be bothered with company no worries! Around 1:30 a few girls where making their rounds thought the clubs checking out whose where, kind of like a recon mission, seeking out an easy target for the night I guess.
If you visit this club try to get a seat by the stage so you can check out the girls dancing while there is Bar Top Dancing also I did not see any during my stay but the small stages are all over the bar so when the club is going strong I’m sure any seat will be a good one.
Tuesday is ladies night, not sure what that means what the hell I thought I would pass it on anyway!
Queens Disco - Orchard Tower - #01-21 - 6737 6444 - (5 Nov 2004)
Third stop; not much has change here from the last review but now all Filipina. As usually they were on me like flies to shit! Got double teamed for drinks by two hot LBFM’s but the dance show they gave me was worth every damn dime of.
I’ll surly be back here again and again!!
Update: March 2007 - This club has mostly Indonesian girls dancing and hanging out now. Mama Tracy for those that know her from 392 club, Angles and the Blue Banana has returned.
Thai Disco & Karaoke - 5001 Beach Road #02-81/90 - Golden Mile Complex - 6295-1611 (5 October 2004)
I had heard of the Thai Disco before and once stopped by the mall to see the
location but never entered the place so when a Co-worker offered to take me there I couldn’t refuse.
Being a Tuesday night about 10:30pm I wasn’t sure how the place would be in the way of the crowd but that would be determined once I go there since you never know how a place will be on any given night.
So when we arrived at the Disco I wanted to take a picture of the sign for the club and was in formed I could not take the picture. I don’t recall the reason why but I spoke to the person and give him my business card for the site and was granted permission to take my picture but wasn’t allowed to take any inside the club. Some clubs in Singapore will not allow pictures for fear of someone being caught on film that should be there or at least being seen in the arms of another.
The Thai Disco is a fairly large club with a stage for live bands but there is no dance floor to speak of. After I noticed this I would assume that most of the dancing happens at the high tables where you sit.
There wasn’t the crowd during the time were there but it was about ¼ full with people sitting around talking over the Techno music that was blasting out of the speaker. Service was good from the staff but I would say that if the club was full to capacity you may be waiting a while for a refill of your drinks. Another thing I didn’t see was many ladies, again it was a Tuesday so that could have been a major factor. In a way I got the feeing that the Thai Disco and 51 Jazzy on Joo Chiat are pretty much the same kind of place but until I return to see it filled with more people I could confirm this so I’ll have to head back on a Friday or Saturday to see it in full swing.
I can see the Thai Disco being a really happening location during the Thai New year since I have read a few stories about the club at that time. So the club should be checked out while you’re enjoying your clubbing nights so you can see it for our self. There are also a few places close by in the Plaza Park Royal Hotel that you can check out also.
51 Jazzy - 51 Joo Chiat Rd #01-02/03/04 - 6440 3323 (23 Sept 2004)
It had been a several months since I was on Joo Chiat Road and wanted to return and see the club in full action since the last raid earlier this year so we picked one of the larger clubs to visit such as 51 Jazzy.
Arriving around 9 pm the club was packed full and it took several minutes before a waiter was able to get us a seat at a table. I like the location because it gave me a good view of the entrance and several walk ways so I could see the girls come and go.
My friend Chris who had just arrived in town wanted to see some the different area so Joo Chiat was one place I had to take him.
We orders a jug of beer and sat back enjoy all the eye candy that was walking around looking for someone to talk to and hang out with. While many of the really hot girls were already with some one there are still a few on the move that were not too bad either. I had one girl come over to me but spoke no English so as she stood there by me I just ignored her (mistake #1).
I understand that the club is full of Vietnamese and they don’t get a lot if any Expats in there so the girl you see may or may not be able to communicate with you. For the local guys or anyone that speaks any form of Chinese will have no problem since the girls understand Chinese.
This club is a dual service kind of club, by that I mean you can have at your table being as friendly as you like as long as you are willing to pay for her time and what you fondle on her. The more you play, the more you pay. That is just the way it is and everyone understands that if they visit the club and get a girl. Cost for having company can run between 20 and 100 depending on long she has been with you and the action that took place. So you can kind of call this save sex if that is all you need to get you off for the night.
If you want company out side of the club that can be arranged also, I spoke to one young lady what the price would be and she quoted me S$150 for an hour and S$300 for over night. Well with me and Chris being non-Chinese I’m sure she was going to ask for as much as she could, after all that is her job! Normal prices are more like 100 for a short time and over nights can range from S$150 and up with S$200 being the norm depending on the time of night.
From what I saw while in Jazzy was girls hanging at a table with a few guys for a while then moving on either due to the money running out or the signs o the party ending soon at that table. Didn’t notice any one leaving together at least while I was there and I saw some really hot ladies in the club and then moving on so if you like this kind of here is one of the places you can start your night.
Lessons to remember:
My first mistake(#1) was not tell the girl to leave and when she did and then return again to get ride of her for good (#2). When she was ready to go she wanted payment and has held out her had on my chest. I just looked at her and said over and over no, no, no. I didn’t want to cheat the girl but I hadn’t done anything to pay for and just to have her stand by me in my book doesn’t rate a god damn thing and that is what she got.
MIB / Pub Poseidon - 30 East Coast Rd - #01-31 Paramount Shopping Center - 6348 6867 (4 Sept 2004)
Paramount Shopping Center’s first floor is filled with nothing but small pubs and while I have visited a few of them in time I plan to visit them all. On this trip I was there to see which clubs and changed names or were no longer in business. My plan was to enter get the address and names and get out of there. Well like most of my plans this one fell apart too.
After getting the information I decided to stop in one where I saw a girl dancing on the bar. So I entered the MIB pub and right away I was snagged by a Filipina girl and show to a table. So took my order and before I was done there were 2 girls then 3 all running the same line, what’s you name where you from? Can you get me drink, I need lucky drink for the night so I’ll have good a good night! I had to decline all the honeys that were all over me asking for drinks. Some were not so bad while others were pretty persistent.
It wasn’t until another man returned to the club with his friend who was there when I entered that all the girls surrounded him like fish at feeding time, so I guess he was a big spender there because all the girls seemed to know him and his friend.
The club had about 10 hostesses working and most were pretty damn good looking too. Cost was average with a Tiger costing 5.00 during happy hour and ladies drinks from 17 to S$20.00. The club will seat about 50 to 60 people with a full house, more if standing. There is a full bar so mixed drinks is not a problem.
If you have the time and cash to spend on the ladies I’m more than sure you’ll have a great time there but plan to drop a shit load to get some really action going after the pub closes which is when they may party with you after hours.
Sub Zone - 30 East Coast Rd - #01-07 Paramount Shopping Center - (4 Sept 2004)
Looking a quieter pub in the shopping center to visit, well you up go! Very small place that will seat about 20 people maybe 30. No hassle from the girls so you can just enjoy your beer if that is all you want to do. The girls will talk with you and of course you can buy them a drink too. Prices start at S$10.00 for the ladies drinks, which isn’t to bad until you see the size of the glass, but if you don’t want to drop a 20 at a time it is a nice change. Can’t really say too much about the club but it is a good hide out if you want to ditch one of the girls from the other clubs you may have hooked up with.
Lucky Plaza – 304 Orchard Road – (10 Aug 2004)
As long as I have lived in Singapore I have never been Lucky Plaza at night. I know that sound strange, how could I miss this mall at night? I don’t know but I did! So to fix this error in my behavior I made a trip there to check it and see why I have never read anything on the internet about the clubs there.
I have walked thought in the day time when put the club list together and stopped in a few for a beer during the day but the clubs were either just opening (5 or 6pm) or were just empty from all forms of life so I never went in.
So here is what the clubs were like on a Tuesday night
Club #1
Club V2 #B1-93/96
You can enter this club from the street on the side of the mall or from within the mall. Good size place that has Tee Dances on Sundays from 1pm to 6pm. Happy hours is daily from 5pm to 9pm. Live music and dancing.
When I stopped by about 9:30 pm the club was totally empty and showed no signs of anybody ever being there. The staff didn’t even try to ask if I wanted beer cuz they knew I wasn’t staying as I passed though.
Club #2
Maya-Myrs Pilipino Pub – #01-98 / 6253-0615
Really small pub that will seat about 25 people, Karaoke singing which is nothing new and about 10 or 12 Filipinas’ hanging out and 4 guys. When buying drinks it is cash only unless you have American express or Dinners! Shit I never been in a place that only took these, have you? Well anyway, not bad place over all. Beers were 6 bucks a mug I think, forgot! Didn’t get hassled at all by the girls there which was a nice change from O.T. More of homely feeling kind of place.
Club #3
Manila Pub - #02-64 /
Pretty much the same thing as Maya-Myrs only much bigger.
Both of these club you can drink with the ladies with out the hassle you get in Orchard Towers so if you are looking for a place to just hang out and have few drinks this could be the place to go. Chances are, like most of the pubs that are like these I’m sue you can ask the girls out to join you to party in some other club and take it from there.
Lucky Plaza has about 10 pubs in it with most being on the 6th floor so I’ll have to return to check out the top floor and see what those pubs are like.
Circular Road – update on area (7 Aug 04)
Located behind Boat Quay this lively street is lined with small pubs from one end to the other which makes it and ideal place to pub hop. It had been a while since I was in this area but heard of a few new places so I decided to drop by and check the area out.
I arrived in the area around 12:30am and it street with active with people going from club to club, sitting out side eating and enjoying their drinks.
The upgrading of the old shop house has yielding several new clubs and disco to the numerous clubs that excites already and should be checked out as they look a bit more upscale to the older pubs in the area.
Like any other party area in Singapore Circular has its fair share of hot bodies too. Mostly a younger local crowd in many of the clubs unlike Mohamed Sultan the area still holds its own in the party ranking areas very well.
Cash Studio Family Karaoke Box – 2 Havelock Rd #02-10/11 Apollo Centre – 6533 0090 (7 Aug 2004)
Being in Asia for a while now I have come to realize that what we in the west like doing for a night of fun is a bit different from the east in some ways. While Karaoke singing had become popular in the west for me, well just call me old fashion and give me a killer stereo and leave the singing the to professionals while I enjoy my beer. There is not an Asian country where I have been where some one wasn’t singing Karaoke either in the bar or at a house party, people here love to sing and many of them are very good too.
No I have been in the smaller Karaoke Pubs that cover the island which for me are find I can enjoy my drinks at a decent price, talk to friends or just hang out and after a while you don’t even notice who is singing.
Then you have the family Karaoke loungers which the Cash Studio is. Here you make a reservation for you and your friends to kick back in a room and sing your harts out. The rooms are a decent size with a long couch, table, 2 TV monitors and a nice sound system.
There were 7 of us the night we visited Cash Studio and here is how our 3 hour visit went.
We arrived around 9pm and had to wait for a few others to show up so we played some pool in the waiting area until they showed up, once they arrived about 9:30 we were shown to our room and told the prices.
S$48.00 for the room for 3 hours for the first 3 peopleS$10.00 for each added personS$9.50 for a bottle of Tiger Beer (jugs not available)S$5.50 for soda, tea or juicesYou can take your own food in to the room or order from them
We where shown how to work the remotes for the changes which was broken down in to categories such as Male/Female, languages, Etc. so you had a wide range of music to chose from and there were a lot of songs to chose from too.
This being my first time in this kind of club I was pretty content just listing to the other sing which were defiantly a lot better then I could ever be but wanting to try it out I sang a long with one song and then made the mistake of trying one my self. I picked I THOUGHT I knew and proceeded to just butcher the poor song to the point I had to tell them to turn it off. After that I wasn’t asked to sing again! Thank god!!
Over all it was a good time I have to admit, would I do it again? Maybe, but t is not on my list of things to do on a Saturday night.
Duxton Nights - No 1-A Duxton Hill - 6220 1678 (July 29 2004)
I heard about this pub in the Duxton Road area from a friend so when my friend, Steve came in to town we stopped by to check it out while I was giving him a tour of the city. Located were the old Elvis Pub was not a lot has really changed over all. The interior is a lot nicer now and they have a band that plays also. I wasn’t there to hear them so I have and excuse too return, not that I need an excuse!
Drink prices are pretty fair at $6 per mug of beer. Ladies drinks well that is a different story, $20 for them, yep this is a buy-me-drink bar filled with Filipinas. Plenty of them too! We had only been in the bar for about 4 minutes before 2 approached the table to find out who we were and what was up for the evening. Over all there was about 10 or 12 ladies in the pub when we arrived about 8pm.
Duxton nights is lively pub with ladies dancing to R&B and anything else that has a decent beat going. If go I hope you get a chair dance like we did, it definitely make the visit well worth while. Like any other B-M-D bar if you are on a budget don’t waste your time going but if you have a few hundred to piss away on over priced drinks your good to go, but then again it not the drinks you are paying for it the company.
So that’s my review of the Duxton nights, oh yeah I don’t know why have “Restaurant” in their name but you will see some fine dishes you’d love you try out if you could afford them.
Café Society - 1 Parliament Lane #01/03 - 6338 8151 (24 July 2005)
Heard about a new bar called Café Society which has been open for a few months from my wife, she received an invitation to see her friend band playing there. Not wanting to be late or miss out on a good seat we arrived at 7:30pm leaving plenty of time to check out the place before the band started at 10.
Located across the river from the party area of Boat Quay the bar is easy to find. Unlike the Boat Quay bars here you find a more upscale bar due to the surrounding settings of the Old Parliament House Building. The patrons are a mix of locals and Expats making it a good place to meet new friends or join old ones.
The first thing I noticed about the bar was it various seating arrangements from the bar to high tables or from the slow back chairs to the sofa seats you’ll find and area that will meet your needs for the evening. The club has three areas to enjoy your night out from the main room which has the bar and stage for bands, an outside seating area if you prefer the fresh air and cool nights of Singapore and there is also a private room for special functions. The club will seat about 100 people comfortably between the three areas and still you plenty of room to move around with out feeling crowded in.
The Café Society has a fully stocked bar and a great drink list with fair prices, one thing I really like was their happy hour which runs from 7 to 9 where your drinks are 1-for-1 on 90 percent of all the drinks they offer, I don’t recall which drinks were not included, sorry! Another plus for the bar is the food which I found great and prices were right on the mark for the amount of food you get. The staff is more then friendly and service is pretty fast. The bar has plenty of workers to cover the tables so there is little time between ordering and receiving your order.
You’ll find that the Café Society Bar is a nice place to relax with friends in a some what quiet setting. The band plays at a level so it is not over powering so casual conversations can still continue but chances are you’ll want to enjoy the band anyway.
Lem Garden Karaoke Pub - 1028 Sembawang Road - 6275 4488 (15 July 2004)
Here is another neighborhood bar located in Sembawang I reached the pub instead of going home late in the evening so I could check it out with hopefully a crowd in it so I could get a good feel for the place; well that was the plan at least!
Maybe it was a slow night or something since the pub practically empty. But it didn’t stop those that where there from enjoin themselves. A few where singing songs while other where playing pool and the rest where talking to ladies at their tables. So I’ll have to head back there again to see it with more of a crowd in it. One thing I did notice about the place is the pool table is larger than your normal bar size table. I wasn’t able to get a clear look at it since I was a bit blurry eyed by that time.
Prices are like the other bars in this small area $5 per mug so that is a plus. They also have a fair selection of hard alcohols to choose from and the tap beer is Carlsberg’s. So if you live in the northern part of Singapore or work at the ship yard here is place close by to check out.
Post Bar - Fullerton Hotel - 6877 8136 (9 July 2004)
I am not a person to regularly check out hotel lounge bars but the Post Bar in the Fullerton Hotel is one place I have to make the exception to. I first visited the bar several times when the hotel first open and even then found it a good place to get a stiff drink for your money.
When I was invited to meet a friend there for drinks one night I was happy to be able to make it. When I arrived about 6:30pm the club was getting filled from the workers in the area quickly. Being a weekday, Thursday I believe it was the crowd was lively and the house music was just right for keeping you in a party mood.
Being located in a 5 st
ar hotel you will not find many people of younger age mainly due to the cost and location. This is a club for the working professionals that visit Singapore or those working here. You’ll see directors entertaining clients and workers hanging out relaxing with co-workers.
I made a second visit with was on Friday night and made it there by 10pm to find the bar about 95% filled. Having a seat at the bar to I could oversee the crowd I noticed a few things I didn’t see before. Again the crowd was pretty much the same with a few more tourist in the crowd and several working girls mixed in just for good measure. Yeah the working girls have found there way there also. Unlike the girls you’ll find in Orchard Towers these are you higher class girls (cost more $$), or at least they look that way.
We ended up closing the bar at 2am when the man
agement had to chase everyone out of the club, we just didn’t want to leave! The cost in the Post Bar is pretty fair, 12 year old Chives will run you $14.00 and Corona’s are $13.00 and a Jack and coke is $12.00 or was it 13? The food is a bit pricey for the size of the order. We ordered some chicken wings for $12.00 and only got 4 pieces. So you may want to pass on the food there unless you are starving or have money to burn.
Over all I had a great time at the Post Bar and chances are pretty good I’ll be back there a lot more. So I’ll see you there some time.
