Let the Free Flow pour all night" The List of nightly club (here)  Since coming to Singapore I have been in my share of clubs around the island with many more still to check out and one thing that I do like about the pubs, clubs, and bars are the promotions that go on from time to time and those that are regular events. If you see the Tiger Beer girls coming your way you can rest assure that you’ll have a chance to win a prize if you buy a mug or jug of beer. There are deals on buy one, get one free in many places during the happy hours or 1 for 1 as it is called along with discounted prices. So when a jug of beer can cost you up to S$30 in a pub it is worth it to get the 2 for 1 at only S$15 if you have the time and will power to finish it off.
But for the ladies of Singapore it is a totally different story when it comes to going out on the town with friends to have a few drinks or just getting totally blasted and then crawling home to sleep it off. This is the land of the “Free Flow” nights which is going on in many different places every night of the week. Yeah that’s right; you can go out most every night and have free drinks on the house. Most of the clubs serve house pour but what the hell, it it’s free so who is going to complain? That’s right, no one! A few clubs have Wine, Sangria, Champagne or Vodka and some even have Bourbon while in Orchard Towers if you get in at the right time you can even get your shots of Tequila with a coupon. So once again the ladies have it made when it comes to the having a fun time with out spending much unlike the counter-part the men. Unfortunately since later 2003 the number of clubs that had the Free Flow nights had gone down but many of the clubs still offer some kind of happy hours deals or other promotions to keep the crowds packed into the clubs. Many of these clubs can be found in Mohamed Sultan Road area, in the clubs on Orchard Road or around Chijmes and the surrounding clubs. Why are there free-flow nights and drinks promotions? It’s easy if you look at from the point of the clubs. First off it pulls in the ladies for free drinks and they know she’ll bring in a friend or two to keep her company and watch their back so if she should get to drunk and make sure she get to her own house vice some one else’s that she may have just meet. Second, the guys will come in to check out the ladies to see what is happening and who is back for another visit. Being the hunters that most guys are they will remember that one girl that was dancing her ass off on top of the bar even if it was 6 months ago. So if he feels that the night is looking good he’ll make his move to meet her, maybe after a few drinks to help build up his courage if he needs that little extra help, (most guys do you know?) So if all goes well and he made contact with his new found friend we all know that he’ll ask to get a drink, right? Now I don’t know why but here is when the lady will switch from the free flow drinks to the Top Shelf drinks, maybe to see if he is a cheap Charley or a big spender. I’m not saying this is always the case, but hey it happens. So off Johnny goes to get the drinks, happy as a clam and the bar is happy as well because here come the time when free-flow nights pay off for them. Most guys drink a lot faster then the ladies will, so bringing in the ladies will attract the guys to follow so you can see how it all works in the long run for the bars to have these kind night. You’ll also find that most free-flows start after happy hours also, why? Well look at it this way, as the guys are planning to leave with his buddies all the ladies start to come into the clubs and the chances are he’ll stick around for a few more to check out the action and take a few mental notes for his next visit. But guy don't feel left out of cheap drinks for you because there are places you can go to have a great to and save some of your hard earned cash. The best deals I have found so far are at some of the clubs have Liquid Buffet like at Liquid Buffet @ The Atrium on Orchard Road for any 2 hours from noon to 9:30pm for a flat price of S$48 dollars you can have all you can drink beer or house pour. If you think about it these are pretty good deals too because on jug of beer can cost you between S$18.50 and 25 bucks in many of the same clubs. These deals apply to everyone the pays the entrance price so if you’re short on cash you may want to check out one of these clubs. Most bars have Happy hours also where you can get you mug of beer for S$5.00 at most places from 5pm until 8 or 9pm depending on the bar. If you really look around you‘ll even pubs have that is same S$5 price all night long every night while these smaller pubs may not pack in the ladies like the bigger clubs they still have their fair share regular customers that visit. So when you plan your night out on the town, know where to go and where to get the most of your hard earned cash. Free flow is the way to go! For both the ladies and the guys in Singapore!
