I started using computers back in 1978 while in the Navy, my unit had this huge computer by a company named “WANG” the disk for this thing was about 18” and 3” thick but even them I understood the power of thing to come.

In 1993 I got my first home PC a IBM PC-1 and thought it was at the time best thing I ever had. By 1994 I was getting pretty good on surfing the net and started using chat rooms. At the time I was on AOL and had the chance to start meeting people over net.

By 1998 I was all over the chat room and had a list of over 100 fellow chatters, mostly girls of course. Well over time you learn to be able to weed out the bull shitters from the people that are real. Even today I still have friends I meet back then that I still keep in touch with even though I have never met them in person. There were some I met and we had our fun while others we just had lunch or dinner and that was it.

Today there are 10 of thousands of sites out there where you can meet people that are up for just about everything you can think of. Sites like Adult Friend finders which started out as a free site has grown to about 10 other site to narrow down the people you want to meet up with and have great sex with. Over all I feel this is the best site to meet people on for sex mostly.

Here are a few things I learned while chatting:

         1. Never believe any picture of the person unless they send you more of them selves.

2. Ask the same questions more then once in a different chat session and see if the story is the same if not, move on to some one else.

3. If you think the person is real offer to exchange phone numbers and call them while still on the chat to see if you can connect this way you can confirm it is really them.

4. If you are writing some one for the first time take your time and write a good e-mail. Tell a few things about you’re self and your likes. Be honest when telling about your looks because in time they will want you to send a picture of your self so the best thing to do is add your picture in the e-mail this shows you are who you say you are.

I had a 3 page E-mail I use to send out and it is like writing a resume. The first one may not get any attention so you need to make a few changes to appeal to the masses. Mind was changed about 5 times before I started getting a lot of returns. But from that point on the connection started flooding. So from 1997 to 2000 I had my hands full with girls on chat lines. 7. Get a web cam they can be a lot of fun with your new internet friend.

8. Get 1 E-mail address to use for your chat friends when first starting. This way all the mail coming in are from one main source plus it keeps your regular mail safe from others if you have a partner who may not like your new found friends and will ask question. And that “oh they are just a friend” only goes so far after a while.

9. Once you get those E-mail address save then on some kind of storage device just incase your system crashes. I lost many address when my hard drive fried and I could not retrieve any thing off of it. That hurt so do your back-up on regular basis, I can’t stress this point enough to you. Once you lost the information you’re sunk and have to start all over about. Now with the chat program you don’t have to worry about this because everything is saved on the hosting company’s server and not your PC. So unless you are using something like hotmail, gmail or yahoo where you can save your address there take care of what you have in your personal address book.

Like anything else in this world you need to take care when meeting new people in person. For your first meeting make it in a public place so you can get a better feeling for the person face to face. Some people can lie to the best and get away with it so be aware of what is going on, what is being said and where things are going. If you don’t feel right about it follow your instincts and get away from them as fast as you can. 

Can you find true love on the internet in a chat room? Yes you can. The internet is for many a safe way to make new friends that become life long friends. You just need to keep your head about you as you would any other place you meet people.

The advantage to the net is for people that are really shy in public are not that way on the net. It is like a safe zone for them. They can say what they want with out facing the person and they are in the safety of their homes. So if rejected for any reason no harm since the other person has no clue what they look like so what are the chances of meeting that person and them finding out who your are by your screen name, about 1 in 10 billion maybe? So with this safety factor the shy person can say what is really on their mind is with out any reservations. So in some way the true person can come out and from their things can happen.
