Click on the location and it will take you to the page listing of clubs in that area. I wanted to give you some idea of what each area has to offer you so you can decide for your self where you would want to start or end your night while in Singapore. For the address of the clubs in a certain area click on the link for that section and away you go. One thing to keep in mind is that public transportation is all over Singapore so getting around is easy to do even without a car. So have fun but always be safe. IMPORTANT NOTE ON CLUB LISTS: 1) I am always updates these list, so when I find name changes or clubs that have close down the list are updated. 2) Many of the clubs can be found on the links page so you can check out their web site. If you wish to add your favorite club to any of my list submit it though the Feed Back form. If you should find that a place that is closed or changed names please submit the new information and I will make the changes to keep the list up to date. To enter the section click on the link that is underlined or on the side of the pages for the section. 01 Boat Quay / Clarke Quay / Circular Road / Fullerton The Boat Quay area is located next to Chinatown and the Central Business District or CBD and runs along the Singapore River which gives all the clubs a good view to be enjoyed. Being a big tourist location within the area you will find many different restaurants from various other countries to test your taste buds on. Mixed in there are also many pubs and clubs to enter your ranging from Hip-Hop, Jazz, Techno and Karaoke clubs to quiet places to chat with friends so this area offers something for everyone. Most of the clubs and restaurants in this area open while the larger places will open for lunch but most open after 4pm so trips there in the day time limit what you will find open but at night the Boat Quay area is alive with the smells of great food and the sounds of music blasting the different clubs until 3 in the morning. On any night you will see the youths of Singapore prowling the pubs and hanging out with friends while they enjoy the promotions offered by many of the clubs on drink prices while at the same time you can find Expat’s at some of the more expensive clubs in the area such as Harry's, Penny Black and the BQ Bar that chatter to their needs in the ways of clubbing. On the back side of Boat Quay you will find Circular Road which also as a large number of small pubs, 41 last counted, and several restaurants, Circular Road is differently an area worth visiting. Many of pubs on this street are a bit smaller and the action is good after 11 pm when things really get heated up and get busy. There are new clubs on the street since the remodeling was finished on the old shop houses, so if you haven't been there in a while check it out for yourselves, you'll be happy you did. Clarke Quay & Riverside Point Location; up the Singapore River from Boat Quay off River Valley Road & Clemenceau Ave, much like Boat Quay only set up more for the tourist and older crowd with a few clubs and disco’s for the younger people. Many fine eating restaurants can be found here as well as shops and a hawker center if you should find your self short of cash and need a bit to eat. Spread out over several streets there is a center square linking it al together but you can get a bit confused as to which way to go next when trying to find a certain location. Shopping in the Clarke Quay area will give you the opportunity to view craft works from all over Asia and a great location to brows though the shops looking for the special gift to take back home. If you are unable to find what you are looking for there is Lian Court Shopping Center right next door. This is also one of the few and best places in the area to find ATM machines if you are in need of some pocket cash. Hot spots in the area include Hooters, Crazy Elephant club, Bar Cocoon - Forbidden City, Attica, The Clinic, 1nitestand the comedy club, Gotham Penthouse and Ministry of Sound (MOS) which opened in January of 2006 has to be check out if you are in the area. The new Crazy Horse Cabaret opened in January 2006 is now closed (Feb 07) it was a bit on the pricey and the crowd just wasn't there to support the club by locals. There are also smaller pubs like Asylum which gives you a place to just chill out in. All of Clarke Quay has been remodeled so if you haven't been there for a while return and have fun at all the new clubs. 02 Mohamed Sultan / UE Square / Robertson Quay / Center Mall You want to do some serious partying? This is your location, lots and lots of clubs and always packed with people everywhere. Mohamed Sultan Road was lined with clubs one after another so it really pulled in the hard core club goers to the area but due to disorder and fights the area has been done over. Over at UE Square, Roberson Quay and Central mall the party goes on still, many of regular club goers visit the area for a good times. Central Mall Location; Magazine Road & Havelock Road, This area can of unknown by those visiting Singapore because it is hidden away from plan view but once you find it Central Mall is a party area that has around 10 clubs for your enjoyment all with in the confines of the mall area. Live music are found in pubs like The Treehouse and in the area there are smaller clubs to play pool and hang out with friends. The biggest attraction in the mall is MoMo Disco and should be checked out if you find your self in the area. Top of page 03 Orchard Road Being a tourist street you have bars, pubs, disco’s, beer gardens, all over the street the trick is to find them because many are located in the shopping malls that cover the entire length of the street which is about 1500 meters long. So you will have to enter the mall to see which clubs it has. Some clubs are tucked away in side streets or behind other locations making them even harder to find. So you may spend time looking for a place if it is your first time going. The hotels along the street all have bars and clubs in them so don’t forget to check those out as well. Upper Orchard Road is best known as the location of the world famous Orchard Towers, Hard Rock Café and Bar None & Brix on Scotts Road to mention a few places. Lower Orchard Road is known for No.5 & Ice Cold Beer (ICB) on Emerald Hill Road. 04 Club Street / Gemmil Lane / Ann Saing Road Located off Cross Street in the CBD, this short street is full of clubs and restaurants a long its walk way. Being in an area visited by Expats since many live in the area you will fine shop house size clubs to visit from places to shot pool or have a gourmet French dinner before you visit the disco located a few doors away. A nice place to go and get away from the normal trendy crowds that hit the other areas in the city and you can sit outside of one of the clubs and have a glass of wine while enjoying the evening with relatively peace and quiet. Like other areas you will need to stick your head in to the different places to see what is offered since in many cases you can not tell from the outside. Central Business District Location; between Boat Quay / Raffles MRT Station and Chinatown. Several places to have drinks after a days work. Many of these places you have to seek out to find Far East Square - Located in the CBD this hot spot is best know by the locals and Expats that work in the area or those looking for a fun place to meet people. Many of the clubs attracts workers after the businesses close for the day and offers them a location near by to relax and have dinner and drinks or spend the evening socializing until 2 in the morning. Another area with gourmet dinning restaurants from various kinds of food as well as a food court which are open during the time for your enjoyment. The best known club in the area is Carnegie’s for its Wednesday night free flow ladies night where from 10 pm until closing the club will be packed. Top of page 05 East Coast / Joo Chiat / Paramount Shopping Center / Geylang If you should find yourself at the beach riding bikes along the shore line or just strolling down the paved walkway don’t worry about the lack of bars in the area. You will see a few places along the pathway that you can stop into and cool off at while grabbing a bit to eat or you can go a few blocks inland and see a lot more on East Coast Road and Joo Chiat Street which is lined with pubs and KTV bars for you to enjoy your self at. Like many other area that have a lot of bars you need to stop in and check them to see which is to your liking the best. Many of the clubs along the 2 street have girls in them that you can talk with or sing-a-long with just to mention a few of the things that could happen. Paramount Shopping Center has pubs all on the first floor for your enjoyment. Some of these pub can get petty frisky in the action department so take it from there and have fun. Top of page 06 Tangong Pagar / Duxton Hill / Neil Road / Tras Street Located in the Chinatown area many of these clubs are visited by the locals but still pull in a good number of Expats too. The area was a big party area years ago but has died down over the pass several years but the clubs are still hanging in there and doing well by remaking themselves so the area is still alive and going strong once again. You'll find that in this area there are many girls to join you at your table and have drinks with you and your friends if you chose to have them over. Some clubs have bar and pole dancers to entertain you as well as seeing some bands. Like any place else you have to go in to the clubs to see just what is going on since what happens in one pub my not be the same action as the one right next door. prices are fairly good during normal hours but happy hour is the best time if you are on a limited budget. Scattered around Chinatown the clubs can be a bit hard to find but there is a large number being centered in the Duxton Hill area. Lots of KTV pubs fill the Tanjong Pagar area with a few new places opening from time to time. This area also has one of the oldest Legal Red-light Districts (LRD) on Keong Saik Street if that is what you seek. |
